Armenian Creamy Rice Pudding

Treasured Heirloom Recipes

what better way to start my blog by giving you something sweet and personal.
my mother in-law's recipe, a treasured heirloom.
this rice pudding is so good that everyone thinks its more complicated than what it is.
sometimes and more often simple is better!!!

 Armenian Creamy Rice Pudding

1 qt. milk ( 1%, 2%, whole ) your choice
1/2 cup of rice-rinsed (medium grade or Sushi rice preferred )
1/3 cup of sugar or splenda

Pour milk in the saucepan over medium heat add rice and sugar, bring to boil then lower the heat to simmer for about 30 minutes or till the consistency is right and the rice is tender.
Chilled before serving.
Can add cinnamon on top, traditional way.
Another variation is putting raisins just as it finish cooking before chilling.
